The West Sound Film Festival invites you to apply for our 72-Hour Film Competition!
Teams will have just 72 hours to write, shoot, and edit an original short film. Each selected team will be assigned a local business filming location, along with a required genre choice and prop, all revealed at the competition kickoff.

Application opens: February 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM
Kickoff event: Friday, March 6 at 5:30 PM
Teams receive their genres, prop, and assigned business location
At least 3 team members must attend
Filming dates: March 6–8, 2026
Submission deadline: March 9, 2026 at 6:00 PM
Important Rules
Teams will have a 3-hour scheduled filming window at their assigned business location
The business’s sign or logo must be clearly visible on screen in the final film
Fees & Prizes
Submission fee: $50 per team
Best Overall Film: $800 cash prize
Other award winners: $250 cash prize per category
